We are going to discuss transmedia this week. As you are aware, my photography and my vision via a lens are displayed on my blog website, Pixel Perfect. But a picture can only express so much information. I’m currently exploring ways to improve the narrative component of my work.
I’m looking at ways to improve the storytelling part of my work so that I can get deeper into the stories that exist behind the images. Through the use of many media forms on the website itself, the intention is to produce a fuller narrative experience. I am thinking of a way to implement short behind the scenes stories for each photograph on my website. Additionally, If I were to keep expanding this website out, my ultimate goal would be to brand everything and include cross-references or connections to all my platforms. Changing all of my usernames, including my personal Instagram account. I believe this would drive up searches and consequently help me grow my brand across all platforms.
By adding these elements, the website itself could give viewers an improved user experience that goes beyond only looking at pictures and instead provides a greater appreciation of the story that goes with them. Also, when it comes to my personal brand, having my username be the same across all of my platform will make it easy for viewers to find my on different platform that they prefer, giving them more options to stay connected.
