Process Post #2

This week’s PUB 101 task involved setting up this very website. This turned out to be a very long process that lasted much longer than I intended. However, it did allow me to make some fun creative decisions consistent with the vision board I made last week.

My decisions in the setup of the website were heavily inspired by the vision board. To be more specific, the central idea behind my vision board focused on the word ‘flow’, which reflects my goal to make my website feel like a gallery of well-arranged photographic stories. The visual idea behind this website is all about providing an immersive experience for visitors, allowing them to browse stories captured through my lens.

I opted for a clean and minimalist theme to direct most of the attention to the photography. This choice directly reflects my vision board’s emphasis on simplicity and is consistent with the idea of visual storytelling. Additionally, I carefully structured my website navigation and content for user-friendly navigation, so that my audience could effortlessly explore my website without trouble.

As far as resources, I found a couple of amazing YouTube walkthroughs on how to build a blog and the basics of WordPress customization [How To Make a WordPress Blog – Step by Step (youtube.com)] [(78) WordPress Tutorial For Beginners 2023 [Made Easy] – YouTube], all of which made the whole setup process much easier. Additionally, I found asking my sister for help very successful. She helped me tweak my layout to make it more visually appealing and also helped iron out some of the annoying WordPress quirks I was experiencing.

Overall, my goal with the setup of this website was to make it as simple as possible while capturing the viewers’ attention through photography.
